The CCR team had a wonderful time in Atlanta at the Rx Abuse and Heroin Summit. We had the opportunity to share our prevention messaging and resoucres as one of the participating exhibitors. Moving forward we are excited to incorpoarte all of what we have learned into our future work in substance use prevention.
The CCR team had a great time participating in the 2019 Joggin for Frogmen 5k benefiting The Navy SEAL Foundation. We are proud to support such an awesome organization and look forward to participating in future events! The Navy SEAL Foundation is focused on preservation of the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) force and their families. It provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the NSW community and is a source of empowerment and comfort for the families of the fallen. The Foundation offers a comprehensive set of programs specifically designed to improve health and welfare, build and enhance resiliency, empower and educate families and provide critical support during times of illness, injury or loss.

Veterans Village of San Diego serves America’s veterans in overcoming homelessness and related challenges. Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) has served all veterans since 1981 and is dedicated to “Leave No One Behind.” VVSD is the only program of its kind in the United States and is nationally recognized as the leader in serving homeless military veterans. Each year VVSD provides services to more than 2,000 military veterans throughout San Diego County.VSD provides a continuum of care for veterans including care for substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress, and traumatic brain injuries with a full range of comprehensive and innovative services for military veterans for prevention, intervention, rehabilitation and aftercare.
We are very excited to announce that Center for Community Research (CCR) has officially become a Live Well San Diego Partner. We received our official proclamation at the Meth Strike Force Quarterly Meeting on March 1 by Supervisor Nathan Fletcher and HHSA East and North Regions Chief of Operations Kim Forrester. CCR is looking forward to continuing to engage in opportunities to support the Live Well San Diego vision.
Joe Eberstein is the Program Manager for the San Diego County Marijuana Prevention Initiative (MPI). For over 10 years, Joe has been engaging with our youth and community partners throughout the county providing educational training related to youth marijuana use the resulting public health impacts. Joe is an advisory board member for SAMSHA region 9 PTTC, a national speaker and subject matter expert regarding youth marijuana use. His role at CCR includes raising awareness regarding the effects of marijuana on youth and developing regional prevention strategies to reduce youth use and access.
