Much of our work involves measuring the difference others make. Getting involved and making our own difference is also an important part of who we are as individuals and as an organization.
The Meth & Families Committee and the San Diego Domestic Violence Council recently hosted a training, Childhood Trauma and the Developing Brain, on April 20th. A very big thank you to our San Diego & Imperial Counties HIDTA for sponsoring this training series. Babies born to mothers diagnosed with cannabis use disorder are more likely to experience negative health outcomes than those without the disorder, according to findings published Thursday by UC San Diego researchers.
Researchers from UCSD's Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science examined nearly five million live births that occurred in California between the years 2001 and 2012, during which diagnoses of cannabis use disorder rose.

MPI will be at the 2021 CASCWA conference presenting about drug trends on April 26, 27. Over 600 registrants will be participating in the virtual conference. CASCWA stands for the California Association of Supervisors of Child Welfare an Attendance. This is a great event to share resources and learn about new trends.
