New San Diego Grand Jury Report on Marijuana - San Diego police and the county sheriff should collaborate to crack down on unlicensed cannabis delivery services and smoke shops that illegally sell synthetic CBD, the county grand jury says in a new report. The report also recommends the city and county evaluate and document the impacts of cannabis legalization on their finances and local law enforcement efforts. The county is also asked to analyze impacts on health care.

Xylazine is a veterinary tranquilizer,(a non-opioid), which is sometimes mixed with fentanyl and other illicit drugs.

Although xylazine is prevalent in other areas in the United States, San Diego County has not seen a significant number of cases. Due to the increase presence of xylazine, it is important that San Diego County be aware ofthe issues with xylazine and be proactive in its response.

CCR has been asked to act as a consultant for the Advanced Behavioral Health Prevention California ABHPC. The ABHPC is funded by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) with TTA administered through the Center for Applied Research Solutions (CARS). The CARS ABHPC TTA team works in coordination with DHCS and with a pool of expert consultants to provide services. These consultants will help develop primary prevention within the State.
