LGBTQ Resources
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in June to honor the Stonewall Riots that occurred at the end of June 1969. In June 2020 there is an intersectionality recognized between the LGBTQ+ movement and the movement for civil rights.
One great resource for the LGBTQ+ community is 2-1-1 San Diego. In 2-1-1 San Diego’s words, they “are passionately dedicated to breaking down all barriers to accessing health and community services throughout San Diego County. Recognizing that the LGBTQ community often faces additional barriers to access, 2-1-1 San Diego has created this LGBTQ Community Resource focus page as tool to foster connections needed between service providers and individuals in need.”
2-1-1 links to partner agencies, support groups, spiritual and self-enrichment, health services, mental health services, legal services, alcohol or drug abuse services, housing/shelter, food and basic needs, public benefits, family resources, and laws and rights.
