FAQs

Who can request a training or technical assistance?

Any community coalition, school, workplace, or provider organization in San Diego County can request support, at no cost.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Trainings, technical assistance, and resources are provided free as part of a County of San Diego prevention contract.

What topics do you cover?

Alcohol, cannabis, emerging substances like fentanyl, harm reduction, and overdose prevention — for community groups, providers, and public health partners.

What can technical assistance help with?

Technical assistance is free, individualized support that starts with what you’re trying to accomplish. Common examples include making sense of local data, choosing and adapting an evidence-based program, strengthening a coalition, planning and strategy, and putting prevention strategies into practice. This isn’t a fixed menu — if you’re working on substance misuse prevention in San Diego County, just ask and we’ll figure out how we can help. Request technical assistance →

How soon will someone respond?

A staff member typically follows up within two business days.
